AskLyrics Terms of Use
These terms explain the responsibilities that apply when you browse, create an account or contribute to AskLyrics.
Acceptable use
Use the service without harming it
Use AskLyrics to search, listen, save, discuss and contribute without disrupting the service or other users. Do not attempt unauthorized access, automate abusive traffic, evade moderation, impersonate another person or organization, or submit knowingly false credits and claims.
Your submissions
Share only what you may share
You may submit only material you are entitled to share. You confirm that information is accurate and grant AskLyrics the permissions needed to store, review, format and display an approved contribution. Submission does not guarantee publication, and content may be corrected, declined or removed.
A community platform
Contributions are user-generated and moderated
AskLyrics is a community lyrics and song-knowledge platform: songs, transcriptions, notes and information are contributed by users and reviewed before or after they appear, following the Contributor Guidelines. AskLyrics hosts and displays these contributions but does not claim authorship of them. If you are a rightsholder and believe material here is not authorized, our DMCA process removes it on a valid notice.
Catalog data and availability
Expect sourced facts to be corrected
Song titles, artist names and third-party identifiers remain associated with their respective owners. Chart and release data are time-stamped references and may change when a source corrects its record. Features, accounts and pages may be modified or withdrawn to protect users, rights or service integrity.
Community notes, votes and rankings
Moderated, and removable by consensus
Community notes, accuracy votes, information additions and video suggestions are reviewed before or after publication and may be edited for clarity or declined. A note whose community score falls below zero is removed. You may not vote on your own contributions, operate multiple accounts to influence scores, or submit content you do not have the right to share. Contributor rankings are computed from approved activity and change as content is added or removed.
Accounts, saved lyrics and playlists
Google sign-in only
Accounts are created through Google sign-in; AskLyrics stores no passwords. Saved songs, folders and playlists are personal organizational tools tied to your account and may be deleted by you at any time. Deleting your account removes this data.
Newsroom content
Original reporting
AskLyrics news articles are original works written from corroborated public announcements and are the property of AskLyrics. They may not be republished without permission. Corrections are made when a cited announcement is corrected at its source.
